Initial Physiotherapy Assessment
$130 / 60 mins
- An assessment begins with detailed history taking - a comprehensive evaluation of your concerns, history, and goals - and is followed by a hands on evaluation. An individualized treatment plan is constructed and discussed, after which we begin treatment.
Follow up Treatment
$90 / 30-40 mins
- A focused and goal-oriented treatment session that comprises of manual therapy, education/advice as needed, exercise prescription (as well as review, modification or progression as needed) and in some cases adjunct treatments such as taping, acupuncture or dry needling.
Initial Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Assessment
$150 / 60 mins
- A thorough discussion of your concerns, the intake form, your history. An internal exam is optimal, as it provides the therapist with the best understanding of how your pelvic floor functions and how it relates to your troubles. However, the internal exam is entirely optional and you may chose to have an assessment without it.
Follow-up Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Treatments
$100 / 30-45 mins
- An evaluation of your progress, review of exercise completion and progressions as necessary. In cases where consent is provided for internal treatment, muscle stretch/release is sometimes required, as well as cues to proper muscle activation, while therapist palpates the pelvic floor and provides you with feedback.
Treatment Length
Treatment length is determined by type of speciality field required (pelvic floor physiotherapy vs vestibular vs orthopaedic) and whether adjunct service such as acupuncture is utilized. Longer appointments available by request.
What to expect on your FIRST VISIT
I will arrive with all equipment and supplies, including a portable treatment table (should it be needed) that can be set up in a room of your choice. The first visit involves an initial assessment (see above), during which I will go over the intake form with you and ask you more details pertaining to your concerns. A detailed history taking allows me to consider many factors behind your presentation and to formulate a hypothesis pointing to the cause of your issue. This is followed by an observation of how you complete certain movements and a hands-on assessment of various body parts (always with your consent) - this may include palpating over clothing or on skin. Please remember that my goal is to help you and you are always free to let me know if anything is uncomfortable – we work together. Once the assessment is complete, we discuss the proposed treatment plan, which may include any of the following: exercise prescription, manual therapy (hands on therapy), cupping, taping, acupuncture/dry needling, and education. You will be given advice and/or exercises to complete to help improve your symptoms. Depending on your concern and goals, follow-up appointments will be discussed. Once your functional goals are met, you will be discharged from physiotherapy care.
Acupuncture, dry needling, taping
If chosen to be part of your treatment program, they are not an additional cost and fall within the umbrella of a physiotherapy treatment for billing purposes.
Payment
I accept cash or e-transfer paid at the end of each visit. I do NOT accept credit or debit cards. A receipt will be issued for reimbursement by extended health insurance plans or for tax purposes.
Cancellation Policy
Please allow for 24 hours notice for appointment cancellation. I offer a one-time forgiveness exception, but repeat late cancellations will result in being charged in full.
